A world-first new centre aiming to overcome cancer’s ability to evolve and become drug-resistant opened its door to researchers at The London Cancer Hub in January 2021.

The pioneering Centre for Cancer Drug Discovery will be one of the flagship buildings at The London Cancer Hub and will enhance the ability of world-class researchers at the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) to partner with industry to take their discoveries to market.

Centre for Cancer Drug Discovery

The £75m building, which spans 7,300 square metres, includes cutting-edge biology, chemistry and computational laboratories, meeting rooms and collaboration hubs to foster cross-disciplinary working and creativity.

We are also currently renovating around 6,300 square feet of incubator space to develop an Innovation Gateway, which will be located right next door to the new Centre. Its close proximity to this state-of-the-art facility will allow companies to access advanced technologies and work directly with researchers there.

The Innovation Gateway offers high-quality laboratory, office and collaboration space for a range of innovative companies working in areas of the life sciences related to cancer. There will be a particular emphasis on accommodating start-ups, spin-outs and small teams from the biotech, Medtech, data science and pharmaceutical industries. Innovation Gateway exterior view
